For the finance lead

The numbers your CFO will ask for

B2B software purchases above $5K/year are usually approved by the buying group, not the evaluator. This page is built for the finance lead on that group — three-year TCO math, expense category, vendor terms, and what we provide for procurement.

Three-year total cost of ownership

Same math the calculator uses, projected 36 months forward at three common team sizes. Numbers below are list price; Enterprise negotiations can change the per-seat side.

Why our pricing isn't per-seat

Ordnami's value scales with the work, not the headcount. $49/mo flat for the first 25 users; $4/seat above 25; capped at 200. Per-seat competitors charge for every chair, which means buying the tool gets more expensive even when only half your team writes specs. The math here uses each vendor's public per-seat list price as of April 2026 and Ordnami's current Pro tier formula.

Expense category and billing

Ordnami is an operating expense (OpEx) — a monthly SaaS subscription. No capitalization requirement, no asset to depreciate, no one-time implementation fee. Pro-tier billing is month-to-month; Enterprise contracts can be annualized during procurement.

Most teams charge Ordnami to engineering tooling or product management toolingcost centers. The line item shows up as one invoice from “Ordnami, Inc.” — no per-feature add-ons, no separate AI surcharge, no per-integration fees on the Pro tier.

What happens if you stop paying

Your specs, generated content, and workspace context belong to you. If you cancel, you can request a full export of your workspace data via support@ordnami.ai — typical turnaround is one business day. We're building a self-serve data-export UI; it's on the near-term product roadmap.

No retroactive charges, no “reactivation” fees, no clauses that prevent you from moving to another vendor. The integrations Ordnami connects to (Linear, Slack, GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Notion) are OAuth-token-based — revoking access from your side is instant.

Buy vs. build

The instinctive CFO question on any specialized AI tool: could we build this internally? Industry rule-of-thumb for a small-team AI integration build — one to two engineers, 12 months — lands somewhere between $200K and $400Kin fully-loaded engineering cost. That estimate is based on common ranges for senior engineering salaries plus overhead for a one-year focused build; it's not a hard number, but it's the right order of magnitude.

And that gets you a tool with maybe 60% of Ordnami's depth: a basic AI loop with shallow GitHub search and templated PRD output. No codebase-grounded citations, no hybrid semantic+keyword search across Confluence/Slack/Notion, no ongoing maintenance budget when models change or integrations break, no continuous improvement from our shared learnings across hundreds of teams.

Ordnami at 25–100 users costs $588–$4,188/year. The buy-vs-build comparison doesn't close — and that's before you account for the engineering capacity you'd spend building this instead of shipping your actual product.

For procurement

Standard documents and processes we provide for procurement teams:

  • MSA & DPA: Templates are in finalization with outside counsel. For evaluations needing immediate documentation, email billing@ordnami.ai — we can provide a security questionnaire response, draft DPA, and proposed MSA terms while the formal templates are completed.
  • W-9 vendor: Ordnami, Inc. is U.S.-incorporated. Vendor onboarding documentation including W-9 can be requested directly from billing@ordnami.ai.
  • Payment terms: Pro tier is credit-card billing via Stripe (monthly). Enterprise tier supports invoiced billing on Net 30 terms — wire transfer, ACH, or check.
  • Procurement portal coordination: We work with procurement teams directly via email today. Coupa, Ariba, and similar portal integrations are on the roadmap based on Enterprise customer demand.
  • Security questionnaire: See /for/security for the security lead's walkthrough; full questionnaire response available from security@ordnami.ai.

Finance FAQ

What's the actual total cost over three years?
For a 50-user team, Ordnami's three-year total is $5,364 ($149/mo × 36 months). Productboard at the same team size is $34,200, Aha is $106,200, ChatPRD is $52,200. The gap widens at higher team sizes because Ordnami caps Pro at $4/seat above 25 users while competitors scale linearly per seat.
What expense category does Ordnami fit under?
OpEx — operating expense, monthly subscription. No capitalization required. The contract is month-to-month on the Pro tier (Enterprise has optional annual terms). Most teams charge Ordnami to engineering tooling or PM tooling cost centers; some allocate across both.
Do you offer annual prepay discounts?
Not on the Pro tier — pricing stays $49/mo flat regardless of billing cadence. Enterprise customers (200+ users) can negotiate annual terms with a discount during procurement. Email billing@ordnami.ai with your team size to start the conversation.
What happens if we stop paying?
Your workspace data — specs, generated content, knowledge base — belongs to you. Request a full export via support@ordnami.ai with one business-day turnaround; a self-serve export UI is on the near-term roadmap. No retroactive charges, no reactivation fees, no clauses that prevent you from moving to another vendor.
Can we get an MSA, DPA, and W-9?
Yes — MSA and DPA templates are in finalization with outside counsel; draft language is available now from billing@ordnami.ai for evaluations that need it. W-9 is provided as standard vendor onboarding documentation on request. We coordinate with procurement portals via direct email today (Coupa/Ariba integrations on the roadmap based on Enterprise customer demand).
How does Ordnami's pricing compare to building an internal alternative?
Industry rule-of-thumb for a small-team AI integration build (1–2 engineers, 12 months) lands somewhere between $200K–$400K in fully-loaded engineering cost — and that gets you a 60%-of-the-depth tool without codebase-grounding integrations or ongoing maintenance budget. Ordnami at the team sizes most buyers run (25–100 users) costs $588–$4,188/year. The buy-vs-build math isn't close.
